Over 50 Years of Accepting Recycling

Aluminum — White Trailer Truck in Riverton, WY
In 1953, Preston and Jewel Skaggs started Skaggs Auto Rebuilding. They were in the business of buying and rebuilding wrecked vehicles. Many time, Preston would buy an extra vehicle for the parts needed. They soon acquired so many parts vehicles, that they started selling used auto parts. Soon after, Skaggs Auto Rebuilding expanded to include recycling of scrap iron and metals. When Preston retired in 1997, he split and sold the business to his two sons, Breck & Kraig. Kraig took the North side of the street and called it Pro Parts. Breck took the South side of the street and called it Federal Auto Recycling. In 2016 Kraig decided to move on to other endeavors and sold his interest to Breck. Federal Auto Recycling is owned and operated by Breck and Shanda Skaggs along with a group of devoted and dependable employees. This family business continues to be dedicated to recycling. Federal Auto Recycling takes pride in giving back to the community by donating to local groups and youth organizations.
